NOAH: 2000 YEARS AFTER HUMAN STUPIDITY / Mattia Carlà

N.O.A.H  is a graphic adventure. It is born from the transposition of the myth of the ark of N.O.A.H in a key post-environmental disaster. The set of the story is in a sewer 2000 years from Earth not as we know it. In fact, the player enters the role of a survivor of the irreversible Anthropocene process established by the capitalist society of consumption and waste.
N.O.A.H exhausted the fuel of the ark is forced to stop in a point of “luck” to look for supplies, hence the plot develops in an unexpected way. So there is an immersion of the player in an upside down world. It is facing creatures that live in the bowels of the post-apocalyptic sewage system.

The project stems from the idea of creating an interactive and polluted “Habitat”, inhabited by types of flora and fauna changed by diseases. Furthermore, other causes are radiation, waste, waste and non-environmental care. The drawings and animations are all made by me, the game design and the writing of the code are by Gioele Martignano. Sound design and soundtracks are related by Giovanni De Santis (Endesho in art). The application is currently available but in development.

Mattia Carlà is 22 years old born in Lecce and lives in Milan. He graduated in New Technology of Art at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera. His artistic research is linked to drawing, from the fast, instinctive and visceral trait. Pursued, he finds in the animation an interesting means of expression, which will then lead him to experiment with digital and video graphics. He exhibited in Milan during “Studi Festival” 2017 and “Urbino Art prize” 2016.
